Great Way To Get Coupons!

Hello One Thrifty Gurl readers,

My first job when I graduated High School was a Night Audit (graveyard) position at a hotel. At times it was very difficult to stay awake, but it was during these slow periods that my passion for saving money and getting Free stuff started! Needless to say this was one of my favorite jobs - man did I learn a lot! It is this information that I would like to share with you today.

One day I was surfing and I saw and ad for a lotion, that my friend from Texas had told me about. I went to the company site and learned more about it. I really wanted to try it but could not afford to purchase the full size product. I decided on whim to contact the company to see if they had any Free samples or coupons they would be willing to send me - thinking all along that my message would be tossed into the trash bin. Much to my surprise 11 days later I received samples of the entire lotion line and a coupon for each of the products. This birthed an addiction.

From that day on I have dedicated about 30 minutes a week to seeking out Free samples and coupons. My Facebook blog extension is dedicated to sharing these samples with you. Go to the One Thrifty Girl Facebook page to start your own sampling addiction! Another great thing about the free samples is that they almost - always come with a high value coupon.

For example most pet food samples will come with a $2.00-$5.00 off coupon. Bath and Beauty products a $1.00 or $2.00 off coupon is common. My favorites make your first purchase of their product practically FREE!

Tips for sampling!
*Set up an email address strictly for sampling - most companies will email you a confirmation or have you sign up for a monthly newsletter. 

*Follow the rules - If it says one sample/household - only order one, sometimes a second order even if it is accidental will void your first request.

*Order only samples you will use, otherwise you will have so many you won't know what to do with them.

*Be patient - Most samples come within 2 weeks, but some will take a longer time to get to you  (2-12 weeks)

*Check One Thrifty Girl daily, some samples are only available for 24 hours, or have a limited supply.

I promise you; if you would like High Valued coupons and want a great stock of travel size products (I keep mine so I can toss them in my bag when we leave for trips) dedicate 5 minutes a day to sampling!
